Questions? Call us at (772) 286-5300. We're happy to walk you through it.
What's the difference between Zip Clips, Klickers, and Nok-Outs?
Zip Clips are our simplest, lowest-profile release — a single thumbscrew sets the tension, and they work well for outriggers, downriggers, and kites. Klickers step up in durability with a single tension adjustment and a wire release similar to the Zip Clip. Nok-Outs are our heavy-duty, premium clip, featuring a roller-style pulley wheel and release bail that can be adjusted to handle heavier loads. All three are tournament-grade.
What halyard line do you recommend?
Side-mount outriggers and fixed top-mount systems typically use 400 lb monofilament as the standard, with crimps at the attachment points. Black Dacron is a great option for top-mounted systems — it's stronger than nylon and has lower stretch. White nylon rope is the budget-friendly option. Not sure which fits your setup? Give us a call and we'll walk you through it.
Single, double, or triple rigging, which should I choose?
Single rigging runs one line per outrigger and is the simplest setup. Double rigging runs two lines per outrigger for more spread. Triple rigging runs three lines per outrigger and is what serious tournament crews use. Choose based on how many baits you want in the water. You can also add a teaser ring and locking halyard pulleys to each outrigger for an additional charge.
